We started off the month with a trip to Lodi. It was Bens first time up there, and I think he liked it! We love Lodi because not only do we get to spend time with our family, but there's always good food and tons of stuff to do - like swimming in the lake!

We were celebrating several things in Lodi: Fathers Day, Rob's Birthday and Roz's birthday, and Jeremy and my 6th year anniversary! Judy bought us an orchid to celebrate and Ben loved looking at it on our drive home. It was like a natural mobile.

B is such a smiley baby. It's so easy to get him to grin at you, especially if he's rested and fed of course. He's been very predictable too. Wants to eat every 2.5 hours, and wants to sleep every 1.5 hours and sleeps only for 30 minutes (gosh I wish those naps were longer!) But it's really nice knowing what he wants when he starts getting fussy based on what time it is. Now if only he would sleep longer at night....

I still get together with my mom group regularly, and its so fun to see all the babies together. We love taking pictures of them all!
Mackenzie has transitioned to a big girl bed, and her room now has a bed and a crib in it. Once I'm confident Ben won't wake her up in the middle of the night, I'll have them share a room. I'm pretty excited to get my room back for just Jeremy and me. Babies are noisy sleepers! Mackenzie had a hard time saying goodbye to her crib. There was lots of bribing with toys. But now I think she's used to it and tells me that it's okay if Ben uses her crib.

A few weeks ago we had a very busy Saturday with a birthday party in the morning and a baby shower in the afternoon. Jeremy stayed home with one kid while I attended the event with the other. It was birthday party for M in the morning, and then shower in the afternoon with baby B while Mackenzie napped. It was a busy day!
The birthday was for William and Stella Pounds. William turned 3 and his baby sister turned 1! They had a lovely animal themed party at the Oakland Zoo. I didn't know what great rides they have at the Zoo. We didn't end up even going into the zoo to see the animals, since our morning consisted of all rides. Mackenzie had a great time.

One of my closest friends, Sun, is having a baby next month! I can't wait to see if it's a boy or a girl. Her sister Sunny had a baby 10 days before Ben was born and it is always fun to get the baby boys together.

Mackenzie also had a big dance performance in June. Her combo tap/ballet class did a routine to "Broadway Baby". She got some of the moves down in the end, but it was mostly just a fun thing for us to do during the week. Seeing her all dressed up in her costume was super cute too. I'm glad I did it for the pictures alone! Although it was a lot of work. Good thing I was on maternity leave. I don't know how they expect working parents to bring their children to a dress rehearsal in the middle of a workday!

For the first week of July, and over the 4th, we spent a week at my parents vacation home in Guerneville. We've never spent a whole week up there and it was great. There's a lot to do up there, and I can't wait until the kids are a little bit older so we can experience it all, such as river floating. In a few years Mackenzie can kayak too and Ben will be old enough to sit up and share a kayak with one of us. In the meantime, M love love loves going in the hot tub, which we cool down a bit so she can enjoy it. We also played a lot on the beach. She took some great naps up there after being so worn out.

Jeremy loved pretending to be a crocodile at the beach. Mackenzie would wade in and run along the edge of the water, and he'd jump out at her. It was hilarious. She knew he was there of course, so the anticipation of crossing his path made her so giddy and giggly.

My parents left mid week, and Scott came up to join us since Roz was out of town. He's great with Mackenzie, so patient and fun to play with. Both Jer and Scott played for a few hours on the beach with her, swimming and building a huge sand "castle"
