August has been a busy month in a great way. We've been on a few vacations and lots of little trips with Mackenzie.
On one of my days off from work, I took her to Fairyland in Oakland for the first time. It was great. It's an older amusement park, but it was nice for a low key morning. They had attractions for almost every story book tale you can imagine. Mackenzie loved being able to run around with no boundaries.
She especially loved snow white and the dwarves, and spent a good 10 minutes just hugging snow white.

A little 5 year old girl befriended mackenzie on a train ride and they ran around together with me and her grandmother, until M hit her head in the sandbox and we had to go home (it was time to go anyway)

We also bought a bunch of plants and Jeremy spent a weekend replanting our yard with some drought tolerant varieties. They're still small right now but I think everything is going to look great once it gets a bit bitter.
M is a great helper
We also spent a week in Sunriver, Oregon with my parents and Jeremys parents. M was spoiled and had all of her closest family nearby to spoil her all weekend. She loved having everyone in one spot, and kept referring to us as "her people". as in "my people are waiting for me?" Every time someone was missing she'd ask where they were. I think she loved Oregon. Sunriver has great biking trails and it was fun to ride around with her on a bike seat in front of me.
