Mackenzie has accomplished a big milestone in her life, potty training! We tried potty training her earlier in the summer with little success over a weekend, so we waited a few months before trying again. At M's daycare, they kept hinting she would be moved up a class when she finally did give up diapers, so we were motivated in September, over labor day to give it another shot. She was ready! By mid morning on the first day she had stopped having accidents and was running to the potty almost every hour to use it. It helped that she got an M&M every time she was successful! It took us awhile to master going out in public, but overall I was so happy and relieved at how easy the whole process it was.

I've picked up a pizza after getting M from daycare enough times now that she always says "We're eating pizza!" every time I pick her up. On one Friday that Jer was out of town we stayed and ate at the restaurant and had a lot of messy spaghetti. I told her it was a mommy daughter dinner date.

We were lucky enough to attend the SF Symphony's opening gala again this year. Jeremy's work friend is on the board and so KPMG always buys a table. It's fun to get all dressed up! I love picking out something new to wear by renting a dress.

We went to little farm at Tilden park again, but this time with Jenny and GG. M loved it this time, now that she's a little older. She would squeal with delight every time an animal took lettuce or celery from her.

The highlight of our October so far was our trip to Maui! One of my very best friends Kristen, got married on October 5th. Rob and Judy spoiled us by taking care of M while we got away on an adults only trip for 5 nights. We flew out on my birthday which was a nice birthday treat. We finally got to cash in on all the airline and hotel points Jeremy accumulated while traveling so much our first year in New York as well!

Kristen and J.D. got married on Ulua beach in Kihea. Unfortunately it started raining only a few minutes before their ceremony was scheduled to start. So we had it under a tree, no big deal. As a side benefit, the beach cleared out which made for great pictures afterward. In true Kristen form, she was completely unfazed by the rain. It's a perfect example of one of the many reasons I love her.
